Our club gladly accepts
membership applications from
Ladies & men.
All new members must have a
sponsor & be approved by the
Board of Directors.
Attendance:
100% is encouraged. Make up meetings may be 13 days prior to a missed meeting or 13 days after a missed meeting.
Monterey Expenses:
A one time fee of $31.00 covers application costs. $50.00 Dues, paid quarterly, support the club & pay for your meals at meetings.
Youth: Coordinate & organize yearly youth fishing day; help Boy Scouts of America and help with Loin?s International youth exchange program; support Gordonsville Little League; support Orange Youth Soccer .
Community Projects: Give Christmas Boxes to those in need; Support local fire companies.
Club Bulletin: We publish once monthly. Including meeting dates, programs, as well as action taken by Board of Directors, club?s activities & birthdays.
Hearing Conservation: Exams & hearing aids for the elderly & those in need; collect used hearing aids for the local hearing aid bank; make financial contributions to the Virginia hearing foundation in Charlottesville.
Sight & Hearing Van: 24C operates & owns a sight & hearing van that is equipped & supplied for the Lions of this district to conduct free sight, glaucoma, hearing, & blood pressure screenings. The van is used at community affairs, schools & nursing homes.
Sight Conservation: Eye glasses, exams & other corrective sight implements as directed by local medical providers; annual eye examinations at Gordon-Barbour School; collection of used eye glasses to be recycled & redistributed to help those who need glasses; financial support for Old Dominion Eye Bank.
Eye Donor Cards: Are collected for the eye bank.
Leader Dog School: We contribute to the leader dog school in Rochester, Michigan.
Bland Music Scholarship: We sponsor a music contest for students to win scholarships.
Social Activities: Charter Night; Ladies Night; Christmas Party; Family Summer Picnic; visiting with other clubs; other clubs visiting with us & more.
Fund Raising Projects: Broom sale; White cane days; Pecan sale; Club raffle; Booth at Gordonsville Street Fair; Other fund raising projects as determined by Board of Directors & Committees.
